An Evergreen man escaped serious injury after he was hit by lightning just hours before he was to be married.
Mike Speck said he was in his back yard getting ready for a pre-wedding party when the lightning bolt hit.
"It was so bright," Speck told 7NEWS. "You can hear the electricity go 'Zzzzzz.'"

The 54-year-old contractor was stunned and shaken, but still alive. Speck said the same bolt hit the house next door, setting it on fire.
That's when Speck and a neighbor jumped into action, using a garden hose to help put it out.
The two were successful. Only a small part of the home was damaged.
Speck's wife said she is happy he's OK, but couldn't believe what was happening.
"I cannot even tell you. I was seriously a nervous wreck anyway," Dawn Speck said. "It was just crazy."
Paramedics arrived, checked Speck out and said he would be OK. The wedding went off without a hitch.
"It was a great wedding," Speck said.
Speck said this is the second time he was hit by lightning. The first time was 15 years ago, and again that time he was able to walk away with barely a scratch.
The couple chose to be married at 8:08 p.m. on Aug. 8, 2008 because eight is a lucky number.

I don't know... I'm gonna reserve judgement on this one. Sounds like bullshit, but it could be somewhat true, or half-true...or a rumor.

Whatever...
