Man loses arm after passing out on railroad tracks
BRANDON, Fla. - Deputies say a man lost his arm after he was hit by a train in Brandon in the early morning hours Thursday (Sept. 4), the WTSP Web site reports.
It happened just before one o'clock Tuesday morning.
According to investigators with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the man was drunk and passed out on the railroad tracks.
The tracks in that area run behind several industrial buildings southeast of the intersection of Falkenburg Road and Woodberry Road.
An eastbound CSX train hit him.
Deputies say the man is homeless and so far they have not been able to identify him.
