...headed north ta Canada. Roberts Bank. BIG coal exporting facility. Powder River coal.

Must be worth more over there... China. Korea. Japan.

Grain movin' too. Two break-bulk carriers lying at anchor in the bay waitin' for a spot.

BNsf is still busy. So long as they keep us workin' I ain't complainin'!

Heard on the railroad scanner an empty coal train
traversing the BNSF Scenic Sub passing the detector
at MP 1778.6 (just east of Lowell/Everett WA) with
468 axels. The loaded coal trains destined for Roberts
Bank BC are routed Spokane to Vancouver WA via the
Columbia River Gorge and then up to Seattle/Everett
and the BNSF Bellingham Sub to Canada. Empty coal
trains are light enough to make it over Stevens Pass
on the Scenic Sub and they usually go that way.

Please to explain loaded coal trains passing through Interbay. Snippy's correct, these are big, not BIG. Uke trusts Snippy's judgement, and opinions.

Although more information would help Uke to understand better. Northbound coal trains.

Think a year ago there was the CN coal train going to Prince Rupert BC
in the mix of daily coal trains thru the Seattle Funnel and to Everett and
North on the BNSF Bham Sub, well I think that contract expired as
its a solid 3-loaded coal trains a day heading north to Roberts Bank BC.
Thats actually "old-school" calling it Roberts Bank as its been upgraded
to "Roberts Bank Superport" along with "Deltaport" which is the main
container from ships place. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roberts_Bank_Superport

I can see this coal business holding steady a 3 a day to 4-5 in the next

few years. This is all overseas shipments of this coal as opposed to

the thought that most coal trains ended up in the USA somewhere to

keep a power plant going.
