Fuck oh dear the Great Pacific Northwest has been hit hard in the sportsworld in 2008. First the Sonics left town (more like kidnapped). I can't measure the loss of the team at this point in time but they sucked bad enough in the 2007-2008 season that they won't be missed that much. The Mariners lost a 101 games in 2008. Rebuilding is unlikely to happen overnight and a losing season for 2009 pretty much seems a certainty. The perennial division champs, the Seattle Seahawks are fighting for life as injuries have changed everything. Hasselback has been out for 4 weeks or more. Seems the whole team is backup players. They stil have a chance to be in the thick of things yet but that depends on the other teams in the division falling flat on their face. The Washington Huskies went down to L.A. and lost to USC 56-0. The Huskies are winless so far this season and coach Willingham has been fired. Washington State Cougars visited Stanford and lost 58-0. Think they're on the 5th string quarterback now but atleast they have a single victory this season...way more than the Huskies. This years Apple Cup should be a doozy as the 0-11 Huskies visit the 1-10 Cougars. Fuck sports...it's nothing but a distraction anyway.

I sort of got distracted with other viewing until I finally remembered it was on. The minute I flipped to the game, Texas scored a quick touchdown. I know me. If Texas Tech was to win I can't watch this game. I tuned back in when there was 1 second to go. Saw all the replays of the game later. Can't say I care too much about the Texas teams but that was a hell of a football game. I always like new faces at the top. Texas Tech is a damn good football team.
