FARGO, N.D. -- The Cass County sheriff's office wants to be reimbursed for responding to a train derailment near Page, the Associated Press reports.
Cass County Sheriff Paul Laney says a BNSF Railway representative asked him to compile the department's expenses related to the incident and submit them to the railway for reimbursement.
Laney says the department spent at least $10,000 in personnel costs. Laney says he also is compiling a bill for money spent on fuel and equipment.
Officials said 37 cars and two locomotives derailed near Page on Sunday afternoon. No one was hurt. The train was headed from Minneapolis to Minot.
