I have no idea who took these, but it is very recent. Could have been the first major derailment of the winter season on the CN "northline" route. Apparently this was on a train near "Decimal" on the Redditt Sub, about 75 miles east of Winnipeg near the Ontario-Manitoba border. The train was doing 65 MPH I'm told.....could have been a real
Two guys from the car department were called back just to fill a shift last night. They shopped 5 cars, the most cars these two guys ever shopped since they been here. Q300 was all jammed up diggin the shops out. It's about time these cats got a clue. When in the yard, shops are my bread and butter as far as overtime.

Thanks for your post. We here at SeeIn can forgive you for your uninformed view. If you look closely, the shit fit on the car so therefore the car could hold the load. No reason whatsoever for anybody to ever pay attention to the car's design load limits. This is obviously a train handling incident and the train crew has been "handled".

Wes, Thats a flat car advertised to carry 70 tons. Those tractors dont look big enuff to be 20 tonners, but even if they were 60 tons would be copasetic. I don't know how to look up car numbers..(have ta see DrainOders knowitalls) but I'd bet that class of car is nearing the end of its service life, when it was built, its center sill was probably welded on Friday afternoon, or first thing Monday morning. Anyway, its gonna be razor blades soon enuff...

I'd say CN was a pioneer of concrete ties. The trans-con route through British Columbia is nearly all concrete ties. (and has been for 20 years or more) Would you agree Stream?
