There were probably 17 of the Safety Committee members who got a day's pay to think up the sign, 40 who got a day's pay discussing the sign design, and 57 more who got a day's pay going out and visually observing the sign after it was in place.

That bridge saving sign was brought to you by the Enola Saftey Committee.

Couple years ago CSX tried ta send an autorack to Grafton up the Mountain Subdivision. Not only did they make a Convertable Rack, with the top down permanatley, But they had to spend big bucks to fix the City of Cumberland's bridge.

Obviously, your CSX Safety Committees are not as effective as LAMCO's.

I'll bet you didn't have a sign. We'll have a poster this week.

You can have all the safety committies ya want. Put up all the signs ya want. The North End of Enola/ Marysville Yard has been the same way since the 1900's. (OK less tracks now  BFD)
Conductor only responsible for first 6. Yard Master eats the rest.
It COULD NOT have been the DS lining them out the wrong track.
Sometimes ya get away with and extra car or two or three in yer train.

It's a proven fact:

Safety Committees make our railroad safer.

Safer, that is, when the most dangerous ass suckers on the railroad are sitting around in their committee meeting trying to figure out new signs and posters to put up. (And then a quick trip to the all-you-can-eat feed trough.)

"I've got a great idea! Stickers!"

BTW, that block of 25 empty racks always must run on the head end of LAMCO trains. Ahead of 27,000 tons of loaded articulateds.

Our safety committee would have painted that bridge with yellow cautionary spray paint......

That accident would not have happened here.........

Happened here in Philly too when they pulled one through Boone Tunnel. They charged the conductor even though the car was about 25 back.

Snippy, I thought LAMCO employed both physicists and scientists and maybe some actuaries that all reached the same conclusions regarding proper car placement.  Could I be wrong?
