YOUR CELL PHONE RECORDS
Posted February 21, 2009--I was in Hutchinson yesterday attending one of our site meetings and had a conversation with  an
Engineer from La Junta that recently had been involved in a triple fatality grade crossing accident, he told me that his and the crew's
cell phone records were immediately obtained by the FRA, if they had been in violation of EMO-26 there is no telling what could of
happened, he said he wanted to spread the word so others are aware and hopefully will have their phones turned off.

Notice that it does not say that BNSF obtained them.

NTSB and FRA can get them pretty quickly.

You all know what Snippy sez....

Train Driver Gave Improper Rides, Report Says
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: February 28, 2009

LOS ANGELES (AP) Cellphone text messages reveal that an engineer whose commuter train collided head-on with a freight train last year, killing 25 people, sometimes allowed teenagers to ride along with him, The Los Angeles Times reported Saturday.

The text messages, which were found as part of a federal investigation into the crash, show that teenagers rode with the engineer, Robert Sanchez, on more than one occasion, said people who spoke to the newspaper on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the investigation.

The Sept. 12 collision in the Chatsworth area of Los Angeles killed 25 people aboard the Metrolink train and injured dozens of others. There is no evidence that any teenagers rode the commuter rail with Mr. Sanchez on the day of the crash.

Unauthorized ride-alongs are considered a serious violation of safety regulations and could create dangerous distractions.

A preliminary investigation showed that Mr. Sanchez ran through a red signal light and slammed into a Union Pacific freight train on a section of single, shared track.

The disclosure comes as the National Transportation Safety Board prepares to release details on text messaging and other factors during a two-day hearing that begins Tuesday in Washington.

Safety investigators have said that Mr. Sanchez received and sent 57 text messages while on duty the day of the crash, including one 22 seconds before impact.

At that other site, theres a post in which a guy tells his first hand story about getting by a stop signaland waht happened afterwards. I guess the first thing the TM ask was if he coud see their cell phones and he and the engineer showed him their phones to prove they weren't on them. no

Whos to say the offical won't read the phone wrong and try and say you were on the phone.  and if the company can't pull your records after a stop signal violation why would you help them out in fucking you? your fired anyway.
