This was even on the local news tonight.  I really like the last line in the story below.  No way it could have been any fault of the truck driver, I just know it.

POCASSET - A freight train derailment in Grady County this afternoon has left a stretch of railway closed and the train's two crew members hurt, officials said.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported the train derailed about 12:30 p.m. near U.S. 81, about three miles north of Pocasset, when the Union Pacific train struck a tractor-trailer rig trying to cross the tracks.

The train's two lead locomotives ran off the rails and rolled onto their sides, and 18 of the train's 46 cars piled up behind them, Union Pacific spokeswoman Raquel Espinoza-Williams said. Patrol troopers previously said 13 cars were derailed.

The train's conductor and the engineer, the only two crewmembers aboard, were taken to a nearby hospital for observation, but their injuries are not life-threatening, Espinoza-Williams said. The crewmembers' identities were not released.

Half of the train's cars were empty, and the other half were carrying mixed freight, Espinoza-Williams said. There were no hazardous materials on board.

Espinoza said she did not know how fast the train, traveling from Wichita, Kan., to Fort Worth, Texas, was going, but said the track has a speed limit of 49 mph. Union Pacific owns the track.

Authorities have not yet determined who, if anyone, is at fault in the accident.
