Because we have deteriorated the politics into kiddie levels and the current events boards and free for all areas are where politics and kiddies go. I understand that the second amendment and gun rights should go here but we have several members who can't debate as adults and therefore its either move all political threads or just have them started in other areas of the forum. I understand that people need a place to voice their opinions and views, but when you have a token few who drag the rest of the group through the mud and down to kindergarten levels its time to put the stop to the rest of these boards. Besides we've had the same members complain as soon as they get chastised for flaming and kiddie level bashing that the politics were in the wrong board and they were unfairly discriminated against. So that is the reason to move the political to the kindergarten level. No rational debate needed.
