CN, Warrenville, Ill., reach mitigation agreement CN has reached a voluntary mitigation agreement with the City of Warrenville, Ill., located approximately 30 miles west of Chicago, addressing the municipality's environmental issues with CN's acquisition of the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railway Co., which CN acquired Jan. 31. CN now has similar agreements with 17 municipalities, more than half of the 33 villages and municipalities along the EJ&E in Illinois and Indiana.
