Hope they don't raise their arms when they start the thrill ride.

Oh, never mind, that's the UK. Still, thread hijack!

Arms down: British body odor rule for roller coaster riders raises stinks to Coney Islanders

Elis Gomez, 52, of Middle Village Queens just rode the Coney Island Cyclone roller coaster, and chose to raise his hands during the ride.

Take our Poll
Coaster Controversy
A British theme park banned roller coaster riders from putting their hands in the air. Would it ever work here?

No way, what a thrill kill! Coaster lovers would revolt.

Yes I think people take theme park rules seriously since their safety is at stake.

Not sure.

A British amusement park's idea to ban roller coaster riders from raising their arms because of stinky body odors isn't going down well in Coney Island.

"We all know about the British and their hygiene; it is their problem, not ours," Queens limo driver Elis Gomez, 52, harrumphed after getting off the Cyclone.

"A roller coaster is a two-minute ride. So what? The wind is blowing through your arms," said Gomez, smelling of baby powder and Dolce & Gabbana cologne.

British officials said yesterday that visitors to Britain's Thorpe Park in Surrey can no longer raise their arms on popular rides under the new "Say No to B.O." rule.

"I would be angry," said Leo Collaguazo, 11, who rode the Cyclone waving his arms.

The British rule kicks in a day after England's temperatures hit a modest 84.

New York marked its first heat wave of the summer on Tuesday, when the mercury hit 90 degrees for the third straight day, the National Weather Service said.

The brief glimpse of the sultry season could be over for now. Temperatures will cool to 89 today. Rain is expected to ruin the weekend.

The high for Wednesday and Friday is expected to be 87. Saturday should top out at 86.

"The heat wave is terrible," said Leo's mom, Cynthia Collaguazo, 37. "[But] I don't smell," she said, sniffing her armpits.

No, Troll, I didn't mention it, it was already a part of the article that I copied (stole).   You brought it up, fag.

Apparently I asked a question that "stumped" the panel.

I think that those smashboards still exist at Bald Eagle, just outside of the Twin Cities, where the Soo Line crosses the NP's "Skally" line.

Krink, I don't know where any smashboards are but I know where a tilting target signal is.  This isn't it but pics of a tilting target on-line seem to be scarce.

Snippy reminds *cy* that Krink was looking for pictures of slapboards, not engineers' first runs.

It was the best I could do on short notice, Snip.  But, since you brought it up, I thought it only proper to post a pic of your first run.

Well I'm going to take a wild guess and say the slapboard
era came to an end due to the long arm of technology
and all the sucking up of the dead by the mega railroads.
Crossovers are now signaled for the most part even though
the crossover'er may not be a signaled railroad, the mega
railroads have chipped in to make so. Thank you Blackdog
an CY for the answer I was looking for. Just more railroad
history I have in photographs.

Snippy is sad that his e-steamed colleague, the erstwhile *cy*, has chosen to resort to character assassination.

At least Snippy started in a clean Emerald Green environment on good track with Cadillac locomotives.

Cy is hurt that Snippy takes offense at Cy's posting of his first run.  Cy finds a picture of the Snip on the Best Friend of Charleston, the locomotive of the fine predecessor road of Snippy's loyalty, and Cy gets a response like this.

Snippy calls those Cadillacs?  Cy is speechless with indignation.  The only thing on them Cy ever liked was the extended range dynamic, which Cy's former employer was too, hmmm, frugal, that's it, to purchase.

Did Snippy say CLEAN?  Perhaps where Snippy was but maybe it was the friendly welcome that Cy's portion of  the railroad was given when unity came, CLEAN would not be a operative word.

The Green Team Cadillacs never smelled like venereal diseased dirty cunt until the Red Team took the flush toilets out of the Green Team Cadillacs and put in the patented N&W Bag-0-Shitters and official "Nasty Cunt" urinals.
