Claude Mongeau, who took over this year as Canadian National Railway's president and CEO, named his top operations and marketing executives as he builds out his leadership team, the Journal of Commerce reported.
CN named Keith Creel, previously executive vice president of operations, executive vice president and chief operating officer. Jean-Jacques Ruest becomes executive vice president and chief marketing officer; he had been senior vice president of marketing.
Both changes are effective immediately, and both officers report to Mongeau. He took over as CEO on Jan. 1 from E. Hunter Harrison, who retired after holding the position since 2003.
CN, Canada's largest east-west railroad, owns extensive rail operations in the U.S., including the former Illinois Central north-south line that runs along the Mississippi River corridor, and various rail properties centered at Chicago.
Other executives in Mongeau's leadership team are:
Luc Jobin, executive vice president and chief financial officer, who also assumes responsibility for information technology.
Sean Finn, executive vice president for corporate services and chief legal officer, who also oversees CN's government and public affairs offices.
Kim Madigan, vice president for human resources.
