Dan Pickett was re-elected July 28 to his fifth full term as president of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen. He first became BRS president in 1992, after serving as the BRS southeast region vice president. The current term is through 2014.
Pickett began his railroad career in 1965 on a system construction gang with Norfolk & Western Railway (now part of Norfolk Southern).
Walt Barrows was re-elected secretary-treasurer of the BRS.
