Looks like someone has mercifully removed the center bell on that Nathan K5 "SKULLBUSTER".
Wonder how it got on there...Chessie would not have let it go.
CSX wouldn't have either..

Unfortunately the day I was there (Saturday) they were just sitting still, but I was told they pull the Coal Trains well.

The "Big Boys" can't take their newer locomotives on the light-weight rails, so they will probably run for awhile :)

Thanks for bringin' us up ta date on these 'old gals,' as we like ta call anything built before the 1970s. The 'old guys' amongst this pack of railroaders [yep, we are the real deal!] remember throttle times, and workin' on Geep-9s, 7s, and their elderly sisters, the ALCOs of the "F" series.

C45's sound like Tie fighters from Star Wars Coming out of the tunnels. The GE's are quietest units in the fleet! Goddammed SD70ACE's will make you go deaf just idling.
