ALCOs weren't known for using the best paint (no matter the color) on freshly outshopped units. They managed ta get it right by the mid-1960s though...which was just about too late, and decent paint jobs couldn't save 'em!

That's an N&W repaint job, Uke, I recall seeing several units in similar condition. Now that you mention it, though, I don't recall any EMD power being so worn, paint-wise.

I seem to remember a number of fading Green Team units back after the Day of Darkness happened.

I can't argue with you about the red ones, though, those things faded bad and it didn't take long, either.
