*** watched Letterman every night after the nightly news, when swing shift ended. Always looked forward to Jay and Letterman attempting to knock the meatball from the pinnacle of Dave's Christmas tree. A couple years ago the meatball gave way to a pizza!

Jay Thomas always kicked Dave's ass with his near perfect tosses. His passes were that accurate! The "Lone Ranger Story" got everybody, because they all related to getting stoned on 'herb' including Letterman!

Jay Thomas... Two years ***'s junior! Sad. A really funny cat!

Of course The Krink knows who Grant Hart was. Husker Du was a favorite band of mine
during that era. Yes I can take it ruff in music. I was appreciating all the punk that came
forth and then Husker Du came along. Bob Mould gets a lot of credit for their success mainly
because he sings. So today maybe buy a Husker Du greatest hits CD or not. Plenty of Grant
Hart solo stuff on YouTube and what he's done lately.

Actor Harry Dean Stanton died on Friday afternoon at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles at the age of 91. Best known for roles in films like Cool Hand Luke and Paris, Texas, Stanton also had recurring roles later in life in the television series Big Love and the recent Twin Peaks revival. This fall, in one of his final performances, he will star as a 90-year-old atheist in the film Lucky. Stanton's longtime collaborator David Lynch shared a statement about his passing on Twitter.
