Surprised no story posted on the passing of musical genius Michel Legrand...yet. Have to say the music for the movie
"Summer of '42" will forever be in my system. I was the young man with a fascination for what would eventually be
called a "MILF" and those intense feelings for the first time in my life and what happens next. Very powerful music to
fit the situation. I will be looking forward to the collection of Michel Legrand's music put together after his passing
because there is lot I need to appreciate I think.

Michel Legrand Summer of '42 in French.

Michel Legrand "I'll wait for You"

Well known as a 'sideman,' keyboard work, and soundtracks, James Ingraham passes on at 66

Hell of a talent, and dropped at the height of his career!

Dick Miller, 90 passes on... Roger Corman's favored 'character' actor made one hell of an impression on everybody who knew of him and his huge list of roles, and films he worked in

Frank Robinson was in my era and watched him play on TV. Always put up great numbers with the bat
and had a remarkable career as a player and a manager. Also have a few Frank Robinson baseball cards
from the 60's.

Another Jazz giant in my opinion, and quite a few others he worked and played with. Michel Legrand

French pianist, composer, philanthropist. He left the music world Jan. 26th. He was 86

Hmmm... I remember receiving a handout at Newark Airport back in the'80s from one of his followers. I read it and tossed it in the trash. Never thought much about him, but noticed his name was damn near always on every presidential election into the early '90s.

I don't really expect he'll be missed, or remembered by anybody outside his loyal believers.

I did not realize that he was still living. Well, up until now.

Don Newcombe, an early African American pitching star who helped integrate major league baseball and whose struggle with alcoholism led him to become one of the first ex-players to lead a teams substance abuse program, died Feb. 19. He was 92.

His death was announced by the Los Angeles Dodgers, with whom he was associated for many years. The immediate cause was not disclosed.

Mr. Newcombe was a Dodgers mainstay alongside black stars Jackie Robinson and Roy Campanella on one of the best teams of baseballs post-World War II heyday. He was major league baseballs first successful black starting pitcher, helping clear a path for Hall of Famer Bob Gibson and two-time all-star Jim Mudcat Grant, among others.

An imposing right-hander at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, Mr. Newcombe was the only player to win the Rookie of the Year, Most Valuable Player and Cy Young awards before Justin Verlander, then with the Detroit Tigers, matched the feat in 2011.

Snippy, Mr. Pop Culture himself, was correct that Luke Perry was the Fonzi character on 90210.

Was Snippy a fan? Even though Mr. Perry was a true native of the Buckeye State, Cy has witnessed more of his work tunight on the news than ever before.

Now, The Fonz, might have seen a little more of him including Henry Winkler in person once.
