Ancestry sometimes runs free weeks, especially around Veteran's Day, where you can search military records and draft registrations. Sometimes they run other free things, from that I found out that someone either spelled my grandmother's name wrong or she wasn't given the name I thought she was, I suspect the first is true. Also, I learned my grandfather wasn't named Charles, he was named Charley, and he changed it. In fact, both of my grandfather's changed their names to something they preferred, my other grandfather switched his first and middle name.
Uke can only go back so far. Time travel is out oph the question nowadays. Uke can prove citizenship, but not being born. Here in the US. Uke's parental units were both European immigrants brought with family, in the early 20th. century.
When Uke's parents passed, much ancestral info was lost. The old man's old man is all but unknown. Likewise his mother. Uke's mother on the other hand, was one oph NINE in a Neopolitan-Italian clan. Uke has certain memories of those GPs. And oph aunts and uncles phrom my mom's side.
Many oph those pholks are dead, or just missing. Cousins? Perhaps.
When Uke searched phor relatives... Most were Canadians. The majority of father's clans phled Stalin, and were accepted by Canada. They settled (mostly) in Alberta, and the 'prarie' provinces.
Uke's mother's clan scattered throughout the Eastern Seaboard oph the USA. Most oph mom's sisters were older than she. Most have passed on. Mom's eldest sister Mary had a daughter Ann, who kept in touch for a time.
When Uke relocated to the GPNW, contacts were broken. Ann basically told Uke ta fuck-ophph the last time Uke tried ta hook-up. Uke got the message.

Hmm. That address doesnt look right. It looks like the link pointing here was faulty.
Since most of our ancestors were under the religious thumb, most families histories are written in the "free space" in the back of a copy of the bible. Maybe you can locate a distant family member with a bible. My dad's side of the family, the search ended somewhere between the move from the Carolina's to Tennessee. Missing time unaccounted for in the late 1700's. I can image the information I'm missing. It really doesn't mean that much to me to find out the whole story. What is important is to realize you spend many lifetimes within your family unit. Souls work in groups. Good chance you have accumulated a ton of experiences following them around. They are still out there and always will be for you. Depending on your lifetime/incarnation, you may discover other souls that are around to help out tuu. Like me.
