The Italians have always hated the English. Everything English is hated by most Europeans because of the English people's penchant for 'looking down' their noses at everyone else who's NOT English...or who refuses to speak proper English... That AND being in another country where English ain't the first language!

Plus the typical English tourist demands scones and tea, where scones are unheard of...and nobody else drinks tea! As an aside Italian food is great, while typical Engilsh fare is bland, tasteless pap, unfit for human consumption. Except by diehard British loyalists!

Fuckin' place... It's known nationally as a 'spped-trap'! The interstate, I-90 through Ritzville. Ritzville is the Adams County seat. The sheriffs dept. is headquartered in that same building (above), where the city police dept. is located.

And if that weren't enough... The State Patrol is also headquartered there. They all share the jail, which is also in that very same building!

The good news? I am no longer afraid ta drive through Ritzville. Either on the interstate, or through town. I simply travel at the posted speed limits. Interstat 90, 70-MPH +/- 3-MPH. And on secondary roads it's 55. In town it's 30, or 25...

The old NP Depot has a really cool railroad museum... Downtown ain't shit! And the ONE cafe...on the west end of town...serves a half decent breakfast... Skip the coffee though!

This is what Wikipedia has ta say...

Points of interest

Four individual structures in Ritzville are on the National Register of Historic Places. They are the Burroughs (Dr. Frank R.) House on Main Street, the Greene (Nelson H.) House on South Adams Street, the Ritzville Carnegie Library on West Main Street, and the Ritzville High School, also known as Old Ritzville High School, on Seventh Avenue. In addition, the Ritzville Historic District, bounded roughly by Broadway, Division Street, Railroad Avenue, and Washington Street, is on the register.[7] Ritzville is currently home to the biggest annual rodeo in eastern Washington.[8] Ritzville is notorious for its ubiquitous speed trapsa major source of income for the local government.
