Motel 6 complaint

When I'm on the road... Frequently in Oregon lately, I try ta hit the nearest Motel 6 in the area. Sometimes I drive outa my way ta stay at 6...

Back in July I stayed at the'6 in Pendleton... They charged me $44 and change twice. On my Visa card. That's the 'senior' rate...

Bend, Oregon...two nights in a row, same room... $74+ one night, then $65+ the next... That was the Labor Day weekend, and the joint was NOT booked solid!

Just fired off a letter ta corporate relations... I think they owe me an explanation, or an apology, and maybe a little refund...

The least they can do is aplogize. And maybe explain WHY the rates vary so widely... And IF they wanna send me some cash...I'll take it.

Though I doubt that'll happen... They (Motel 6) may end up like Starbucks, as a meber of "Uke's BIG Boycott List," which can make, or break Wal Mart by 2037.

Uke, rates vary from location to location and they're always higher on holidays. I don't think they owe you a phukking thing, you agreed to stay there and they provided you with a room.

If you think Motel 6 is expensive, I shudder to think where you'll be staying next, although I understand there's a place in Maryland with a lot of vacancies now.

Down in Oregon there's shitloads of mom and pop type joints, with varying rates, accommodations and whether or not they have TV, or wi-fi... Wi-fi seems ta be a big deal taday. I'm happy when the TV get the latest news...

Maryland? Not likely you'll force me ta cross the Rockies these days. Travelling that far east requires mandatory health insurance, travel insurance, and carrying... Just in case!

Good GAWD! That's what the internets are for, moran. Snippy always knows what the base rate will be. Lodging taxes are a huge factor. It has nothing to do with whether or not the place is booked the morning after you stay there. Obviously your demand was inelastic since you paid the higher rates.

Lodging taxes have become a license to stick up the traveler. One of the worst in the country is only 120 miles or so from here.

While all that is true... I'm never sure where I'm gonna stay on any given night. It has ta do with convenience. Motel 6 has been one of the best, cleanest, and well managed compared ta other 'chain' places... (B&Bs are decent for day-trips tu!) But around here only!

Consulting the internets would be cool, except I can't do that without a 'portable' thing connected via whatever wi-fi is out there for use by anybody...which obviously I ain't!

Planning a trip to east coast back in 1989. Was using the Mobil Travel Guide
to find a place to stay in Salisbury MD. "The Salisbury Inn" had a 3-star rating
and reasonable prices so I made a reservation. Pulled into Salisbury MD that
night looking for the place. Oh there it is....the run down ma&pa shithole in
amongst all the new motels. It was the worst night sleep me and mrs krink
ever had. There would be later experiences together that would make Salisbury
look like a marriot. Thinking the last room available within a 100 mile radius of
Des Moines Iowa. Hotel screw-up had us re-located to the worst room left in
town. You know the one with the AC that sounds like a Kenworth truck.
