Seen more and more just about every other night ya see the flashing blue lights along the ROW.
...just last week saw a WV State Cop have a guy stopped under the 522 bridge in Hancock.
I'm the one who goes by on the train blowing the horn and yelling "Cuff 'em and Stuff "em"!!!
You used to be able to rent a lot with riverfront access for 100 a year from the railroad. People had campers and wooden leantos built
saw some HUMUNGOUS fires and parties thru there. Girls with no tops on running around when they heard a train coming.
People took too much advantage and the rent was jacked to 100 a month to weed them out. Now they arent renewing the leases and No One will be allowed back on the old camp sites. The RR owns clear from the tracks to the river. that includes the road (which used to ba track 3)
From Orleans Road to PawPaw the road being talked about was the old lowgrade which the railroad still owns. They could relay the tracks on it anyday, and I'm surprised that they didnt put 1 track down to go around all the tunnels while they are being worked on. If you live back there then you can use the old ROW as a road.
As far as knowing who is who...the cops can tell if youre a "local" or a whistledick rite away. Locals usually are totin a rifle or shotgun looking for something to eat,
a camera or railroad radio scanner would never be found in thier vehicle.
