Same thing going down in our state capitol as well! Somehow the nuts have gotten people (legal gub owners) all fired up over nothing! Yet the screwballs continue crawling outa the woodwork, spewing the same right-wing NRA paranoia. Obama's gonna take our gubs!

And that ol' hackneyed..."Over my dead body!" And "they'll hafta pry it outa my cold, dead hands..."

Hundreds rally to protect gun owners rights

OLYMPIA, Wash.

More than a thousand advocates gathered in Olympia Saturday to fight for the right to bear arms.

 

The rally was part of a national movement in support of the rights of gun owners.

 

KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Deborah Horne spoke with a few advocates at the rally.

 

David Taylor, of Yakima, told the crowd that he plans to introduce legislation to protect the rights of gun owners in the state.

 

Our rights come from God. Not from the government, said Taylor. The government did not give us those rights, and it cannot take them away. This is our line in the sand. We will not go quietly into the night.

 

Many other gun rights advocates took a stand and delivered their message that the right to bear arms is sacred.

 

But I feel its something thats being exploited by gun prohibitionists to try to take away the rest of our important rights, said Andrew McConaghy.

 

Taylor, a state legislator, promised to take the fight to his colleagues and will soon introduce the Firearms Freedom Act.

 

And that legislation includes the statement any federal rule, law regulation or order attempting to ban or register firearms or magazines, unenforceable in Washington state, said Taylor.

 

Supporter Linda Siler was glad to be a part of the rally.

 

Ever since these shootings have happened, its really taken away from the preamble of the second amendment, which says that our second amendment is about keeping our government from infringing on us, said Siler.

4 People Shot So Far On Gun Appreciation Day

In an accident with uncanny timing, two people were injured at a gun show in Raleigh, North Carolina, when someones gun went off after they accidentally left a round in the chamber while presenting it to a law enforcement officer for a safety check at the entrance of the event, emergency personnel had to be called to the scene.

Both victims were transported to an area hospital, and the Raleigh Fire Department announced that the show would be closed for the rest of the day.

Two similar incidents occurred at entirely separate gun shows in the Midwest, one in the Cleveland suburb of Medina, Ohio and the other at the state fairgrounds in Indianapolis, Indiana. In Ohio, the local ABC affiliate reports that one individual was brought to a hospital by EMS, and in Indiana Channel 8 WISH says that an individual shot himself in the hand while trying to reload his gun in the show parking lot. That brings the tally to 4 victims of gun violence so far at three different gun shows during the countrys first Gun Appreciation Day.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)  Philadelphia Police say a 24-year-old man was shot once in the leg during an argument in the cities Spring Garden neighborhood Saturday night.

Police say the shooting happened at 11th and Spring Garden Streets around 7:45 p.m.

The victim was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital. He is listed in stable condition.

Police say they have arrested the shooter, but have not yet released their identity.
