Starbucks is planning a big push behind its loyalty program, with plans to

double membership by the end of the year.

Starting in May, the world's biggest coffee company says members will be able to earn

points when they buy bags of Starbucks coffee at supermarkets. Customers would have to

go online and enter a code on the bag to get their point.

Starbucks Corp. had announced the move last year but hadn't said when it would be

May you live in interesting times...Considering that coffee can
be only grown near the equator and you and I live no where
near the equator. Every bean in a pound of whole bean coffee
was picked by hand. It's quite a marvel really. Watching
the TV series "Dangerous Grounds" shows what coffee
companies have to go through to get coffee beans in the
first place. It's an Indiana Jones adventure into some rough
and remote and hostile and countries and govts and warlords
to get to the coffee growers. The GPNW is swimming in
coffee and coffee beans. Starbucks are the best at finding
the best coffee beans of every kind of coffee from every
place. I would have to say Starbucks coffee is the best you
can find and put in your shopping cart. But....their coffee
is several bucks higher per LB and it's worth it...but maybe
your are only making coffee for yourself and not trying to
impress anybody and maybe Seattle's Best that sells for
$7.99LB tastes great enough. Thats usually how it works.
Maybe you are cruising along on the "Starbucks Highway"
of coffees from around the world and then something happens.
You have to tighten your financial belt and coffee is a must
every day. So we leave Starbucks behind for the best tasting
"bin coffees" that are $7-8 LB. I think Uke needs to
appreciate the situation more. Buy a LB of their whole
bean coffee from whatever country you want, grind it
yourself, and enjoy some great coffee.
