Superior woman convicted of assaulting government witness
A Superior woman was found guilty Friday by a federal jury in Minneapolis of retaliating against another inmate for being a government witness in a drug-trafficking trial, the U.S. Attorneys Office reported.

A Superior woman was found guilty Friday by a federal jury in Minneapolis of retaliating against another inmate for being a government witness in a drug-trafficking trial, the U.S. Attorneys Office reported.
Veronique Zsa zsa Antique Muckle, 23, was convicted after a four-day trial. According to the indictment and evidence presented at trial, Muckle assaulted Angelique Michelle Vos of Superior on Aug. 14, 2012, following Vos return to the Sherburne County Jail in Elk River, Minn., after serving as a government witness during a narcotics trial.
Muckle faces a potential maximum penalty of 30 years in prison. U.S. District Court Judge David Doty will determine the sentence at a future hearing, yet to be scheduled.
Muckle, Vos, and more than three dozen others pleaded guilty to roles in a large-scale drug-trafficking organization that transported prescription pills and heroin from Detroit to the Twin Ports area.
The organization was brought down in September 2011, after an investigation by the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Duluth police. The investigation was called Operation Highlife.
Muckles business partner and confidante, Lawrence Lalonde Colton, was tried in August 2012. At that time, Muckle and Vos were held separately in the Sherburne County Jail. Muckle had already been sentenced to 52 months in prison for her participation in the drug conspiracy, and was awaiting placement in the federal prison system.
Vos testified on behalf of the federal government in Coltons drug-trafficking trial on Aug. 14, 2012. When Vos returned from federal court, Muckle ran from a segregated area of the jail and violently attacked Vos, the U.S. Attorneys Office said.
Any relationship ta Uke is purely coincidental, and may not be allowed in a court of law, in any county in the great state of Minnesota, or North Dakota.
Uke has never used durgs. Licit, or illicit.
