SEVERAL people, including children are feared trapped inside burning buildings in Waco, Texas after a massive explosion at a fertiliser plant.
At least five people have been critically injured in the blast and at least ten buildings are on fire after the major explosion at West Fertilizer about 10.50am AEST.
An emergency triage area has been set up at a nearby baseball field with at least nine medical helicopters landing to evacuate the injured, while police officers drove others to the West to Hillcrest Hospital in their patrol cars.
Hospitals have been warned to expect up the 100 people with injuries from the blast with the Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center issuing a call for all staff to attend.
