Bob Erb's big lottery win

Mega-million lottery winner Bob Erb wants to clear up a few rumours.

Hes not interested in acquiring real estate of any kindhes not buying a strip club, the Northern, the Inn of the West, or fixing up Little Ave.s derelict properties.

Ive heard all sorts of rumours, people coming up to me saying this and that, said Erb last week while having lunch at his favourite table at a local pub.

Im 60 years old and single, he said. Im not interested in developing. My main focus is the legalization of marijuana and the local charities here in town.

Its been just over a month since Erb, local marijuana activist, antiques dealer, seasonal construction worker, and former mayoral candidate, won $25 million from a Lotto Max ticket he bought at the Hazelton Chevron last monthand Terrace has been buzzing with stories about his generosity.

Nearly everyone knows someone with an Erb story, and the general consensus tends to be that it couldnt have happened to a better guy.

And no wonder. At this point, he says hes given out nearly $7 million to neighbours, friends, local charities and businesses. Hes gone through half-a-dozen chequebooks at 25 cheques each. And he has plans for a $3 million trust that will give out $100,000 a year to community groups for years to come.

I'm sure I've never worn a t-shirt with a MJ leaf on it.
But that doesnt mean anything.

Exactly. The guy can afford to say what he thinks, now.

Criminal law penalties for cannabis possession are at this point, ridiculous.

Whether one partakes, or not.

What with British Columbia being so close ta Washington, where it's legal ta possess an ounce for personal "recreational" use, visit a "doc" who hands out green cards, then a dispensary. Buy an ounce, use it sparingly, drive back ta Canada. Lie about your "agricultural" product being imported across the border...

Enjoy the unused portion at home. Prosecution for using a weed that's been used for thousands of years... Extremely ridiculous!

So interesting to read the news daily on how the "legal"
pot process is going in WA State. State Liquor Board has
approve some 300 stores to sell MJ. Sposed to up and
running June 2014. Meanwhile all those that get high
today are still going "underground" just as its always
been. Soon as the State can relax some of the
"proposterous" taxes on every phase of MJ to
your new store of the future, this whole dream
wont work. Underground weed has less red tape.

Perhaps enough people will relax and come to their senses that old school heritage pot strains will become popular and proliferate again. The fixation on highest THC has created a bad name and created a lot of fear in the general public and paranoia psychosis like symptoms in some chronic smokers.

I wonder when the day/opportunity comes when I can go out and
buy weed at the store on a Sunday. May have to get there before
6PM. This "purchasing weed" at a "store" is something I need more
input from the experienced. Since there is no experience to draw from,
we just have to see what happens. Maybe "lop-off" some of the
heavy taxes on the whole process. Its a work in progress.
Meanwhile the underground continues on as usual.
