"Summertime"...the Summer of 2013 in the GPNW drew no complaints as its the best anyone can remember. Lots of sunny days and a steady diet of mid-80's temps. Never got so hot that you needed to have a fan going. Open windows for 3-4 hours after dinner and its cool enough to sleep at night. I think it only rained 3-4 times all summer. Thats not enough to keep your lawn green or your garden growing. For the first time since I have been gardening (1996) that I noticed "the price of water". My PUD bill (electicity/water) which is usually $120-140 was much higher...like $188. That relflects watering my garden every other day for 2-months. The PUD bill previous was high as well and I've figured it cost me about $100 to water my garden for 3-months. For some reason I have hard time with that. The value of water has increased.
