Coffee...maybe someone should start a thread about
"Coffee". So when you make "coffee" in your house in
the morning or anytime of the day what "coffee" do
you buy/use and what brewing method is utilized.
The water you make coffee from..is it tap water?
Have you any experience with "exotic coffee's" from
anywhere else than "Columbia" SA? Does it matter?
I can tell you that Columbian Coffee is one of my favorites
...the Arabica Columbian Coffee that is. The stuff the
masses consume already ground in a #10 can is
"Robusta Coffee" from Columbia. Coffee hunters dont
spend anytime at all with "Robusta Coffee Beans".
The Robusta Coffee forests are sprawling every in
Columbia and spoken for by the biggest coffee
companies in the world. So that looks to be the
"constant" for quite some time the quality of your
ground Robusta beans in a big can with some familiar
name like Folgers, MJB, and others. I suppose to take
this any further we need to see if anybody here thinks
exploring/drinking different coffee's is something to
persue? I say yes. I've made espessos from nearly
every known coffee from around the world. Thats a
past tense thing that was really enjoyable..."around
the equator tour" via coffee beans. Today I buy bin
coffee beans and none of which is Starbucks at my
local megamart. 3-different coffee companies keep
the bins full. I always choose the least in price per LB
which is usually $8-9@LB and I rarely diviate from
a Columbian Supremo. The "McCafe" is getting into
the Arabic coffee's. You can get into coffee like wine
or dope or its no more than a passing thought after
you drank a cup.

Sorry Mr Krinkers, I just don't have that monkey on my back.

if its -50, and I come in from shoveling snow, I can stand to hold a warm cup in my hands and sip maybe a half of a cup, but the rest goes in the sink.

This as the child of a woman who can't be seen without a cup of coffee in her hand. Mom drinks it from sunup to sundown. I don't know how she manages to sleep with all that caffeine.

Guess maybe she has already consumed my share and is working on somebody else's.

We went through Timmy Ho's drive through this week on the deadhead and the dark roast ad campaign is insidious to say the least, so I went for one. The kid was giving me back the change and says " Wait...I need that large coffee back." I says "The dark roast ?" " Made a mistake, here's your dark roast", as he trades me. Good thing. I never would have went back, just would have thought, the dark roast is just as crappy as the regular roast Robusta mud beverage. It wasn't bad. Not quite as smooth  as a  Starbuck's Verona, mind ya. Get whatcha pay for to some degrees. And fathead there is right, as well. I did frequent a place out east on vacation that had a very nice all day breakfast special for $8.00 with home made pan fries and a bottomless dark roast and service with a smile.

 Mrs Krinks Dad drinks coffee all day and well into the night and he keeps

telling me he cant seem to get a good night sleep. I say lay-off

 the coffee and see what happens but trying to tell a 80yr old

what to do doesnt always work.

The secret of those who have to have coffee all the time and realize that even with a high but-up tolerance to caffeine, there is no true tolerance to caffeine.

Wait! Maybe the decaf is why Snippy is always up all night! There is no tolerance level.

 Wow Snip I never thought to mention "decaf-coffee " as something

worth a try for my aging neighbor. Still if caffenation keeps you awake

and all the getting up to pee, the getting up to pee wont change

drinkin' decaf so you might you might just have to put yourself

on a "no-coffee after a certain hour" plan. But if you are consuming

lots of coffee a day like a railroad worker then you'd be hard pressed

to go 3-4hrs in your sleep/rest without getting up to pee. I have to

pee just writing this. I'm going to suggest the "de-caf coffee" next

time I see him.

"dark roasted coffee" or in coffee world..its almost burnt
coffee beans. French roast same thing. Dark roast has its
place in Espresso coffee's and its the best way to appreciate it.
For me a "medium-roast" is prefered for my daily cup of coffee.
Of course I'm "caffiene aware" and I want to get the max
in my one cup of coffee everyday because most days I hope
to accomplish something and I need a lift.
