Pretty safe bet everybody of the BJ grew up with

cartoons on the TV every Saturday morning. Bugs

Bunny/Roadrunner Hour, Popeye, Rocky and Bullwinkle,

Looney Tunes, The Jetsons, Johnny Quest,

Heckle and Jeckle, Mighty Mouse, Kaptain

Kangaroo, and a few more. I last investigated

what cartoons were playing in the early 1990's

when my stepdaughter was watching them and

it was almost unrecognizable as the classics were

gone and all kinds of "uninteresting cartoons" had

taken there place. During this time cartoons took

primetime TV on Fox with the Simpsons and King

of the Hill. I'm ok with no cartoons on a Saturday

morning..just less mind-programming of our youngsters.

I believe that Krink. And kids don't care what we want them to want.

At least there is plenty of thought provoking material out there beyond

what the networks feed the prime time couch potatoes.

I happen to enjoy Simpson's anyway.

I have really elimated "Animation" as an interest
overall. But for old kicks there are a couple Popeye
cartoons that I was never able to capture during a
couple marathons featuring supposedly every show.
There were atleast 3 Popeye cartoons that featured
"Alice the Goon". The first Popeye cartoon I remember
featuring the Goons and they were like zombies and
a lot of them and it was a little scary from a young
kids perspective. Think there was 2 Popeye cartoons
with Goons and maybe 2 more with Alice the Goon
in more of a domesticated roll. Not that it would make
that much difference to me today but if somebody
could post a Alice the Goon or any "Goon" Popeye
cartoon video would be fun for me to see again.

Popeye cartoon that I remember seeing in my very young days and

when your a very young kid..this Popeye cartoon introduced to

me "drama and fear"...fear of the goons and what has really changed

since 1938 in that regard. Was this a great Popeye cartoon or what.

I mean just following every utter by Popeye in this cartoon is like

"before Firesign Theatre" in the complex humor of voice. Before

Mel Blanc. Turns out one Jack Mercer gives Popeye unbelielably witty

lines and mumblings and a mercurial marvel of voice and sound effects.

For 1938 this was a way ahead of its time cartoon.  You should watch

this Popeye with Goons again and try to focus on "Popeye thinking

out loud".
