...ya seen one of these guys? Little ol' wooly caterpillar... Ain't seen one in at least 20 years! Takin' a hike in a park nearby, spotted one crossing part of the trail. Cool! Watched it for a minute... Got back ta the walk. Ended up at 5-1/2 miles.
Did see two more woolies...dead ones. Flattened by some hapless hiker. Tu bad! These guys are pretty rare out this way!

Hmm. That address doesnt look right. It looks like the link pointing here was faulty.
I have yet to take a digital picture of the "Woolley Bully"
(bear) catapillar but I've seen them every year around my
"spread". I happen to have the "Audubon Society Field Guide
to North American Insects & Spiders" book and your fuzzy
new friend is a "Woolly Bear" and a moth to be. When it
gets to be a moth it will be a good-sized moth that has
orangish colered wings and always finds things to eat
other than your garden plants so no need to squash one
with your shoe if you see one. Just let it go on its merry way.
The Woolly Bears never get out of hand as you may see
one or two all fall/winter. Perfect harmony.
