Warning to my friends still at BNSF: Another example of the Company preaching safety, but punishing you practicing it in today's Seattle Times 5-17 page B2. A conductor was fired for going to the FRA because a supervisor told him to skip an air test. This is the 2nd instance where a whistleblower was dismissed for reporting safety violations to the FRA. The earlier case resulted in the dismissed employee being awarded $1.25 million. Bit of advice-if you are ordered to do something unsafe, GET A WITNESS! They'll write you up for insubordination, and if you've reported it to FRA, you may lose your job! If you don't work for BNSF, keep these instances in mind when you hear them assure everyone that running all these oil trains is nothing to worry about because "Safety is Job 1". (Now you know why I was not popular with management!) Below is a nice photo taken in Everett with 2 oil trains ready to roll.

I wish they would do that to me.... I let them know when I go to the FRA so there are no surprises....

Great picture from the north end of the Delta Yard Marsh tracks with the CP leader on an
oil train and a NS unit 2nd on another oil train. Then there is a UP unit 3-deep on the
manifest train. Big time railroading in the GPNW.

 Krinkers better check his glasses....

That 3rd unit in the manifest train is a CSXT Dash-8 in "brite future" paint.

It is also asserting its dominance by proudly displaying a fully optioned Nathan K5 SKULLBUSTER,

Something those other chicken squakkers can only dream about...........

Calvin is so right on the CSX instead of UP. Blame it on my intoxication level.

Same dood. A bit about his 'early daze' at BN Interbay:

The best job I've EVER had was as a "Locomotive Supplyman" from 1977 to 1981. This entailed driving a fuel truck to the various BN yards in Seattle and supply "old (yard) goats with fuel, sand, and lube oil as needed. I was on duty from 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM, but it was more like 5:50 to noon. The General Foreman showed up at 6 so I'd be out of there just before he showed up. It usualt usuallly took only 2 to 2.5 ours to do my job. The rest of the time I studied (going to community college then. Every other morning, I'd pick Susi up at the entrance to Balmer Yard (we lived in th neighborhood), and we'd go downtown, park in an alley and have breakfast before she had to be at work. "Those were the days my friend. We thought they'd never end..."

David Sprau That is the mission of the new management: New Rule: "Employees shall not enjoy their assignment nor have fun, and must understand that they are a valuable asset until no longer needed."

Bill Pylypow I remember your slogan from waaayyy back Dan: "Railroading is FUUUUNNN!"! How times have changed eh?

Here's Dano. Real name; Dan Olah. One of Interbay's finest. His career started back east with E-L, in Ohio.

He also served four years in the US Navy. mntman knew him before BN rehired yers truly at Interbay!

Guy must've been from Marion, if he worked in the EL loco shops. He sure resembles a whole bunch of BOT's I knew.

In the background, it almost looks like one of those LAMCO (tuu cheap tu paint for awhile) stealth units they were running a few years back.

Uke was a sacrificial lamb (not that it mattered, since the hell I live with is very real to me!) alone,at the ol'TRF yes. But TWO others? Retired guys perhaps. Do you remember names of the named?

Those two musta been culpable of some nassty shit if yers truly outed 'em. By the way, Olah has posted many examples of his RR 'career,' and Uke has not outed him since.
