EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
A rail worker saved a man whose home caught fire while he was asleep.
He was working the rails near Delmar Avenue in Evansville late Wednesday night when he says he saw smoke coming from a nearby house.
Crews on the scene tell us he pounded on the door to wake anyone up who was inside.
We're told one man was asleep and was able to escape.
Fire investigators say the fire started on the second floor at the back of the house.
They're still looking into what caused it.
