Indeed. Then again there's our pal *cy*. Nobody aside from "Snippy" knows much about *cy*. B ut let's not digress.

Let's stay on topic for once, explore and discuss our favorite topic "Railroadin'" shall we? Let's.

Most of us were born after WW-II, and while we barely knew much about the future, or most of the past before five, or six years of age, every damn one of us was destined to carry on what 'they' started.

Have ya given a thought to it lately? Here ya go then, enjoy!

There was a whole lotta changes going on in when most of us were kids. Little did we know what lay in store for us. If we'd known that the railroads would grab hold of us, would we have chosen a different career path? Probably not.

We've all got stories about the hows, and whys in our own stories about the railroads. But personally, I wouldn't trade my 'job' for love, or money after all the years railroadin'!

Although my story was working on locomotives, not running 'em, or pulling trains. But I sure liked my chosen 'profession'! I learned something new every day. And passing that knowledge on to a youngster, or an apprentice gave me a sense of pride.

I never worked for the Milwaukee, but I met several guys who had. Machinists from Deer Lodge, Montana, after the railroad pulled back all the wayeast, to Miles City, MT. Those five or six came to BN in Spokane. They all missed 'their' outfit...

Anyway we all got bit when we were kids, and ended up working on the railroads. This vid is Milwaukee, and made in 1946. My birth year. Who knew where I'd end up?

Lotsa early diesel power, which spelled the end for steam
