All I can say is Wow! These guys who flew this B-17 had some real guts, and balls! It was cramped, cold, and under constant threat. If you weren't shot down by the enemy (Nazi Germany), the weather might catch ya. Flak from German guns, German fighter planes, or fuel running out before ya made it back to your home base.

It looks like early in the film, you can see the angle of attack vane tied down, it is located next to the feet of the nose art woman.
