Teenagers in Georgia can now get their drivers licenses without taking a road test thanks to the coronavirus outbreak and some parents are a little worried.

The rules were relaxed so that state employees who administer road tests dont have to share a car with license-seekers amid the virus.

The road-test waiver will also help cut through a backlog of up to 30,000 teenagers who are waiting to upgrade from learner permits to provisional driver licenses, Newsweek reported.

License applicants still have to submit a statement saying they have completed at least 40 hours of supervised training.

But parents say theyre nervous.

I do feel we need to keep social distancing, but I also feel nervous about having drivers on the road [who] havent actually passed a road test, Georgia mom Alicia Wiggins, whose 15-year-old son is learning to drive, told Newsweek.

Maryland has a parking lot sized maze of red cones and stripes on the pavement. The 

test administrator can see more outside the vehicle and video cams record the test.

One thing ya dont have to do is parallel park. It has been dropped from the test.

I cant remember the last time I had to parallel park. Unless its downtown city streets where you live not likely
to see else where.

we couldnt pass Drivers Ed in high school without knowing how to parallel park..at the time it made a 15 to 20% difference on insurance rates if you had your card..

Couldn't pass driver's ed., couldn't pass the driver's test in the Great State of Ohio. Driver's ed made a difference on auto rates, tu, but I've no idea how much. I know they don't do the parallel parking now, it's a maneuverability test.
