I often find this cartoon strip amusing and they've also hinted different times that he's a retired railroader.

Ya, funny how the chairs on the Boss's side would crank down almost completely flat.

We had a notice for awhile that you were supposed to inspect the seat you were using

for broken seat back stops and to report results on the work report

How many trains call out tu you a week now?

They're still mad at Snippy for not telling them he retired.

Remember, all ye who have gathered around from the United Snakes of 'Murica who will draw retirement from RRB. There is NO requirement that you tell the railroad you have retired. The requirement is that you not perform compensated union or railroad service after you have informed USRRB that you have retired. Oh, LAMCO will huff and puff and threaten to blow your house down, but once you qualify and inform USRRB, you're gonna get your annuity. I'm still one guy's hero. They had him scared no matter how much Snippy assured him that Snippy is 100% right. Only LAMCO T&E employee that it matters for is if they have the $40,000 1985 slush fund payoff owed to them. (that would have been ~$107,000.00 if the UTerUs had insisted on Treasury interest rates)

I've been retired since 1999. I'm now approaching more years retired than I worked.

May we all be so fortunate but I suspect some of us won't mark that milestone.
