Truth: During my little stint playin' soldiers in SE Asia... My unit was moved...and we were scheduled ta see Bob Hope and his entourage of babes at Bien Hoa AFB.

Last minute cancellation. Ton Son Nuit was under siege...so we waited for Bob... But the Rev Billy Graham just 'happened' ta sub for Bob.

There mighta been 20-30,000 troops there...in this big areana thing set up for the Hope show.
Talk about a rip off...my crew walked out in protest.

Saw these guys one year, too, at the height of their TV show popularity, along with the whole crew. Pat Paulsen and John Hartford.

The USO had a concert planned for us back during the first Gulf war. They had a giant stage, and they whole shabang.

The band starts, all the lights flicker, and say "Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome national recording star, Jimmy Williams"!!

We're all thinking, "who the fuck is Jimmy Williams"?
