Looks like somebody's gonna get a huge one when they finish up here!

Went out ta get a newspaper earlier... And the Fuck Uke Ranger's parked along the curb outside, with a water spout under it... Moved it up the block...

Now the city guys arew here, ready ta dig up the street!

They shut the main supply up above the building... And had all the cars moved...

They got all their shit out there, and it looks like a backhoe's gonna tear it open right where they put the piping for this building...

Gonna be lotsa phun! Rain pouring down... The right front wheel was parked right over that spot! Damn certain that whole area's been washed out by the leak... Musta broken last night, or very early this morn... I went for a haircut about 1100, and that's when I notice the 'spout' squirtin' under my PUP!

By the time I wandered back here... The locator crew was here, and the first water crew. Now the whole gang's ready ta go!

And that's when I moved the 'Ranger!

Phuck Ranger Uke broke the water main, Seattle will be out of water in no time. My water bill has been reduced to 1,400 now. Actually mine is down to 70 bucks, the previous owner is down to 14 hundred.

How big's the washout? After they shove rods in, then pull 'em back out... Anybody's guess how big the dig will be...

Looks ta me that the Water Dept is taking care of underground pipes much like modern surgeons in the Operating room do.

Stead of making a large cut into the body, they just poke a couple small holes and use micro surgical tools.

Whatcher seeing is the Water guys pushing welding rods inta the ground at the site of the leak.

After they fire up the welder and put it into solar flare setting, hook up the welding rods, and POOF!! the leak will be repaired.

The next day the grout truck will come and use those small holes ta fill up the cavity.

If you got a used backhoe ya wanna sell, better get rid of her now...gonna be a lot of hoes on the market.

The locators found the main... And our intrepid crew (2 grunts, one sup) aligned the pipe with six, seven rods... Before cutting, and opening a hole...

I came inside ta dry off... Not only is it gushing, but it's pouring as well! Hopefully it'll be repaired by bedtime... However this crew IS on overtime, and they all hafta work safely! I checked 'em out for PPE... They're compliant, not ta mention they DID have the job briefing before touching a damn thing! That's a biggie with Seattle Public Utilities now...

I imagine those guys were thrilled to have someone watching them and photographing thier work.

Wonder if they called the DS ta turn ya in.

Did ya have a little scratch pad along ta write down what kinda truck they had, what series and model,

wheelbase all that good stuff??

Did ya have yer scanner along tuned to thier frequency so you could hear what they were saying on the radio?

I'll bet it was a grand afternoon!!

One of the pics I snapped showed a series of 'pins' which ran along the length of the leaker.

And the lead team member did some sorta tracing... And located the exact spot. That's where they cut, then dug... Fix was made, and they left.

Asphalt patch, and locator paint on the street are the only evidence this morn...

Glad you never lost water Uke but you might run your tap a few minutes
before filling up that glass. Which totally contradicts what you see in the
movies and on TV. In the movies and TV, any person going to the sink
area and filling a glass with water, will 100% of the time take the first
16oz of water from a faucet. That is the worst water can be from a
public source. Got to let it run for a couple minutes atleast. If nothing
else, for the water to be colder. Secondary would be all the trapped
pollutants from age old plumbing. Thanks for the story in your hood Uke.

It's Fuck Ranger Uke's fault. He parked his behemoth on the pipe, crushing it.
