Police ID 4 men involved in U.S. 41 shoulder brawl
NEENAH Police identified the four men cited with disorderly conduct Sunday afternoon after a road rage incident exploded into a fistfight on the shoulder of U.S. 41.
Winnebago County Sheriffs deputies responded about 3:45 p.m. at U.S. 41 southbound near County G in Neenah for a report of a fight next to the concrete barrier.
Michael Krause, 32, of Appleton and Donoven Phillips, 52, of Green Bay squared off roadside against a father and son, Joseph Steckbauer, 47 and Derek Steckbauer, 18, both of Oshkosh
The first two, Derek Steckbauer and Michael Krause, were rolling around on the ground exchanging punches. The other two were pushing and wrestling, said Winnebago County sheriffs Lt. Bill Anthes. It was a bad situation, this could have been all bad.
Deputies arrested both Steckbauers after the incident. Joseph had an outstanding warrant, and Derek violated his probation, Anthes said. (Watch a video about the fight:bit.ly/highwayfight).
Anthes said the department receives 10 to 15 calls for reckless driving each day, but this is the first physical altercation hes dealt with on U.S. 41.
