Last smoke break @ 0045 hrs, noticed flashes to the east/mountains.
Not a good time for strange lighting storms because everything
is tinder dry in the lowlands and the mountains. With no rainfall
associated so far with this weather, it's going to start some new
fires in the GPNW which already has a bunch of them going on
already.

Woke from a pretty sound sleep sometime after midnight to flashes... Then thunder, then rain falling on the street and trees outside. Fell back as more lightning flashes and thunder rolled...but a mere sprinkle. Woke up at about 0800. Dry as it was before the rainfall.

Kinda cloudy and cool now, and weather blog says that we may see more thunderstorms down here, with the possibility of more rain. Been so dry lately, that any rain would be a welcome change. Hell some clouds would be nice tu!

I awoke last night to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered
Started humming a song from 1962
Ain't it funny how the night moves
When you just don't seem to have as much to lose
Strange how the night moves
With autumn closing in

Forecasted thunder-storms through the night-time.
Had a rain-shower an hour ago. No fireworks going
on presently. If you listen to AM radio, lightning strikes
causes interference and you can add that to your
assessing the storm and further action. Way back
in railroad days where the operator (at a depot or tower)
incurred lightning bolts that hit the line, they most likely
had permanent hearing damage. Remember a suit
or the bringing up of "hearing-loss" with associated
railroad occupations. GPNW is not usually lightning
Central.
