* WHERE...South Willamette Valley, most likely Interstate 5
westward.

* WHEN...Most likely period of snow will be Monday morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult at times,
and snow may very well impact the Monday morning commute.
Impacts appear less likely for the Monday evening commute at
this time. Be sure to carry chains and a winter emergency kit
if you must travel Monday, especially over the higher terrain.
Be prepared for long delays.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant
snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue

The snow that's been predicted for the past two weeks finally appeared. Yes it did. About four, maybe five inches, and still coming... Needless to say everything is shut down. Fine by me. No pressing business this week. Stocked up last week.

Now I need a cup or two of coffee. Uke out.

The Flood Watch continues for

* A portion of Northwest Oregon, including the following areas,
Cascade Foothills in Lane County, Central Coast Range of
Western Oregon, Central Oregon Coast, Central Willamette
Valley, Northern Oregon Cascade Foothills, and South
Willamette Valley.

* Through this afternoon

* 2 to 5 inches of rain have already fallen in the past 24 hours.
An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain are possible for the
Cascades through tonight with 0.25 to 0.5 inch for the lower
elevations.

* Rivers of greatest concern include the Willamette between
Harrisburg and Albany, the Marys in Benton County, the
Luckiamute in Polk and Benton counties, the Pudding in Clackamas
and Marion counties. Note that flood warnings are already in
effect for the Siuslaw River in Western Lane County, the Coast
Fork of the Willamette River, the Mohawk River in Lane County,
and the Long Tom River in Benton and lane Counties.

* Rising of small streams may result in minor flooding.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Landslides and debris flows are possible during this flood event.
People, structures and roads located below steep slopes, in
canyons and near the mouths of canyons may be at serious risk
from rapidly moving landslides.

The weather hysterians here re wringing their hands over near record blizzard conditions coming sometime soon tu a battery transplant facility not near "Snippy".

Don't send it here, "Snippy"'s Lycra diaper shorts have already gone over 500 miles this year. Still wearing high-vis shirts in sympathy tu my RR brother working stiphphs.

Yesterday, it was only 29.4º (Canuckistani). Looking forward tu when it breaks 30º (Cndien) soon.

No link to story but it was "Breaking News" Tuesday night flash flooding in Pullman WA home of WA ST U. Fast moving waters
going through downtown. Once again...this never happened before. Big mess to evaluate come daylight.
