...they'd turn out ta be amongst one of the 'fattest' states? Well the reporters at BJ.com must admit to being totally baffled by this! But here's the evidence:

The fattest states in America

Published: Sept 5, 2014 6:04 a.m. ET

Some parts of the country have worse diets than others

Adult obesity is on the rise, and more so in some parts of the U.S. than others.

The rate of obesity among American adults rose in six states last year Alaska, Delaware, Idaho, New Jersey, Tennessee and Wyoming according to new report released by Trust for Americas Health, a Washington, D.C. health policy group, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to public health. For the first time, the obesity rate rose above 35% of the population in two states Mississippi and West Virginia, which tied at 35.1%. Colorado had the lowest rate of obesity at 21.3%, followed by Hawaii (21.8%), D.C. (22.9%) and Massachusetts (23.6%).

All 10 states with the highest rates of obesity are in the South or Midwest, while Northeastern and Western states had the lowest rates. Obesity rates defined as a body-mass index, or BMI, of 30 or more have risen from a low of 6.9% (Colorado) and a high of 15% (Mississippi) in 1990 to record high levels in 2013. The results are based on 400,000 interviews by the Centers for Disease Control and Preventions Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System.

When it comes to obesity, significant geographic, income, racial and ethnic disparities persist, with obesity rates highest in the South and among African-Americans, Latinos and lower-income, less-educated Americans, the report called The State of Obesity found. Adult obesity rates for African-Americans are at or above 40% in 11 states, 35% in 29 states and 30% in 41 states. Among Latinos, they exceeded 35% in five states and 30% in 23 states; among Caucasians, adult obesity rates topped 30% in just 10 states.

Around 1 in 10 children become obese as early as age two to five. Baby boomers (defined by this report as those aged 45 to 64) have the highest obesity rates of any age group: exceeding 35% in 17 states and 30% in 41 states. More than 33% of adults 18 and older who earn less than $15,000 a year are obese, compared with 25.4% who earn at least $50,000 a year. Obesity in America is at a critical juncture, says Jeffrey Levi, executive director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Obesity rates are unacceptably high and the disparities in rates are profoundly troubling.

Accurate counts are important, as we know. But the jury is still out while BJ.com awaits our field correspondent to report his findings from Wyo... "The Equality State."

Wait, do we even have a correspondent out there?

Yeah, and their cows are fat asses, tu. Wonder if he got out and called it all kinds of names?

Bob Knight drove an SUV straight into a cow on a highway in Wyoming last month.

(Every word in that sentence is true.)

According to the Associated Press, the accident occurred on the night of Aug. 22. Knight, the iconic former Indiana coach, was uninjured even though the air bag deployed. He was reportedly traveling alone after a fishing trip in central Wyoming. The cow was (presumably) called for a blocking foul. Simply put, its hoofs were not set.

And that's really all there is to this story.

Nothing more to add.

I just couldn't pass on the opportunity to post about a man with three national titles and 902 career victories hitting a cow while driving alone in Wyoming. Have a safe weekend.
