In answer to the query about the HohRain Forest, yes. It is saphe to say that on sunny days as well, moisture drips from the evergreens, and moss covered trees there! Hoh is a true 'rain forest' in the classical term. Precipitation is your constant companion while in the depths of the forest!

But back to the main topic of this discussion, lest we stray further...

A powerful Noreaster developing tonight in the Mid-Atlantic promises to deliver every type of winter precipitation imaginable across the metro region. Heavy snow is likely to plaster our far north and west areas. A mix of accumulating snow, sleet  and rain will hit the District and close-in suburbs, while our southern and eastern areas see more cold rain with some sleet and snow mixed in..

 Guess who lucked out (Again)? Yep, Snippy!

That forecast was downgraded early Tuesday to a maximum of 8 inches for New York City and up to 8 inches for Philadelphia, after snow changed to sleet and then rain. But bus and rail transit was affected and drivers were being asked to stay off the roads, which were slushy and wet. Public officials and forecasters cautioned that wet snow could create dangerous, icy conditions later in the day and for the Wednesday commute.

Mother Nature is an unpredictable lady sometimes, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said at a press conference.
