I heard last week that LAMCO does not permit using hand signals except when on lite power, any other moves require using the radio. No more run silent and they don't know what you're doing. Pure insanity, sure glad I'm not a victim of the current insanity.
That should be handy in the big yards where radio traffic is already congested.
Exactly my first thought, I remember when they started demanding a constant car count when making a tie on the last five cars and getting very nasty about it, stopping several times just because they were getting nasty about it, to the point where one IDJIT RFE asked me why I was stopping and I replied, have you actually been monitoring the radio?
