It was a simultaneous lockout by design. The political clout of corporate farming operations repeatedly  trumps the collective bargaining process in this side of the 49th parallel, over and over. The press regurgitates the resentments over annual earnings numbers of transportation workers living with life shortening circadian rhythm disrupted,  physically challenging, mentally taxing lives. Puncuated by the question what about the poor starving ( luxury brand new 1 ton truck driving , only work 5 months a year farmers )  ? Got a tropical Christmas vacation booked and sumbuddys gonna have ta pay for it, eh !!!
